Project: Swoll
It’s been about 3-4 weeks since I’ve hit the gym. I started back up yesterday and damn do I feel weak. I was lifting things about 5 lbs lower than what I was before I got sick and got lazy. 5 lbs isn’t much I suppose and I’m sure either next week or the one after that I’ll be back to normal routine and weight… but it’s just the fact of knowing I have to play a tad bit of catch up. I regret taking the break from working out since summer is around the corner.
Enough bitching though. I had a good work out yesterday, and a great one today. Just gotta get out of the habit of being lazy and I’ll be back on in sync with the swoll train.

Kanye > Drake
There’s this mexican at work and he started this debated with this guy asking everyone who was better. In my opinion this is a) an easy question, and b) this question should’nt have been asked if you really think about it. To be honest off the bat Kanye wins. Despite being an attention whore, and a bastard. He makes good music. OK, I lied. Hes a motherfucking great artist. This guy has some serious credentials. If you are into hip-hop then you can agree that old Kanye wrecked shit.
Drake is also a good artist, but his only major credentials is that a) he ghostwrites for people *ahem* Lil’ Wayne, b) This nigga was Degrassi. I can’t think of anymore. hahaha. Don’t get me wrong. Drake makes a lot of music that I like, but hes a club banger kind of guy. You can’t really compare artists that don’t make the same type of music.
My argument towards the Mexican dude was basically stating credentials. I was at work, so I wasn’t able to have a full on debate about it. What he said was Kanye doesn’t make music anymore, which I do believe he is working on an album. and also said if Kanye and Drake were to drop an album at the time Drake would sell way more albums than Kanye. My assumption and also my opinion on this guy is that he is straight up hypebeast. He seems to me to be that radio music hype kind of guy. What I wanted to say to him, which I couldn’t because I was busy working, was that we’ve already seen this happen. 50 and Kanye dropped an album on the same day… who won? Kanye raped 50. Not only that, but what kind of artist is 50? a club banger kind of guy. LAWL. Seriously though, Drake hasn’t even dropped an album yet. How can you begin to say hes a better artist? Is it because wayne is on drakes dick, so Drake can write him more lyrics?
That’s pretty much it. This wasn’t supposed to be a who’s right or wrong type thing. I just wanted to get it off my chest, because I wasn’t able to debate with this guy.

Goodphil 2010
Lol. As you can tell I am always a bit late on my blogs about my past weekend. I blame 1/3 procrastination, 1/3 laziness, 1/3 being tired, and sprinkle a little bit of bullshit on top and you basically get this post and its lateness.
Last week on Thursday was a very easy day. I went to work and it was slow… SO they started letting people go home early. I asked my lead if I would get a chance to get sent home, and she said I can. WOOT! I went home and packed for the weekend. I didn’t do much that night. It basically consisted of my usual routine of surfing the interwebz, WoW, twitter, and texting.
Woke up on Friday, got dressed, loaded up my car with my shit, picked up Stephen and his stuff, and off we went to get Sally. After getting her I had to run down to Arlington to get my True Religions that I got hemmed, and back to Lewisville to pick up Jimmy. This is where our journey truly begins.
This would be the first time that I took my egg on a road trip. In the past there would be something wrong with my vehicle. Whether it be fucked up tires, shitty car (galant), or some other random car problem. This time around I had brand spanking new tires, fresh oil change, and just got an alignment.
The drive was very… boring. We took 45 down and then Jimmy found an alternate route about two hours into the drive. The drive took about 3.5 hours total I believe. Don’t quote me on that though, because I straight up forgot.
Upon arriving in College Station we rushed to check in at our hotel, and drove to where Goodphil was being held at. Cultural dance was eh, and I’m going to be very honest… I was falling asleep through that shit. Ira Perez was awesome with her performance, but her slow music didn’t help my sleepiness. Once the Spirit Dance portion came up the energy through the auditorium filled me. I was wide awake and you wouldn’t be able to tell that I was sleepy five minutes prior. After that Jo Koy took the stage and man was he fucking hilarious. If you have never heard of him I strongly suggest to Youtube him. You will not be disappointed. I would also like to add that he has some serious credentials. Before seeing him on stage I’ve never listened/watched him before. I’ve heard of him but never seen any of his work. Next up was the best, and probably the most anticipated part of the night. It was modern dancing and I was more than ready to see what every school brought out this year. Not only that but, I was ready to see what UTA was bringing to the table (since Raymond and Mel are with them), and what reigning champs UH was bringing. All in all every school brought it this year. No school sucked. Unlike last year.
Once the show was over we all headed back to our hotel room and got our drank on. There were no plans for the day after, so we did what most people are very good at… and thats just sitting back and kicking it.
Saturday I woke up along with everyone in the hotel room and we went to get some Jamba Juice and Chipotle. Then we proceeded to watch the sports that was apart of Goodphil also. When we left we all pretty much had the same idea, and that was nap. After a couple hours we got up to get dressed drink, and hit up the club.
The club was tight. Despite it being like a sauna in there. I had a lot of fun. Knowing that there wasn’t gonna be any sort of drama at the club played a part in making a fun. Clubbing in Dallas always has some sort of drama and that gets really old really fast. Throughout the night I made many trips to the bar. haha. From what I can remember I bought like 7-9 drinks. Before the night was over I saw RJ and Bionic from Supreme Soul and a circle started to form. Some random UTA guy and I pushed Jimmy’s cousin Kevin into the circle to battle RJ. After random bboy bouts, I saw a guy off the side popping. I took that as my cue and glided in the circle and did my thing. Next thing I know I was battling Bionic. The feeling I had to battle a guy that was on national television was amazing. I wouldn’t say I won, but I can say I got to battle him, hung with him, and got hella props from everyone at the club. Once we got back to the hotel I did a little bit more of drinking and hit the hay.
Sunday was such a drag. I had so much fun that I didn’t want it to end. It definitely made the phrase “time flies when you’re having fun” so damn true. Sally and I packed up our things and went to go check out. Afterward Stephen, Sally, and I went to go meet up Mel, Jimmy, and Raymond at this Pho place. Finally the moment I wasn’t looking forward too was upon us. That moment was having to drive back to Dallas aka reality.
That was probably the longest post ever, but nonetheless that was my weekend.
TL; DR - I went to College Station, had fun, and drove back.
If you could instantly become fluent in another language, which language would you pick?
More than likely Viet, just because my gf is viet and a lot of my friends are also. Being able to speak to older people would also win me brownie points. Picking french or something exotic would be cool but would serve no purpose for me since I wont be able to use it.
Who are your worst match ups in SF4? Not according to character, but characters you hate playing against in general?
I used to hate playing Rogs, but now that I’ve played a lot of them I dont care about them anymore. I probably would have to say I hate playing Chun’s and Gen’s. My third least favorite would probably also be a ditto match. Sag vs Sag can be hella gay.
